Infinite Dungeon questions

#1 Post by jenx »

1. Is the infinite dungeon infinite in levels? I'm on level 54 or so and character level about 44. Does it stop when I get to character level 50?

Btw, there are now endless nasties and amazing equipment on every level now. Once you to this stage0 it is much easier.

I've also learned lots of tricks for playing as a summoner.

The infinite dungeon is not, strictly speaking, infinite. It is, in fact, 1,000,000,000 levels long. It's certainly longer than you or anyone else is going to manage to get through, possibly in this lifetime.

Thanks. I'm now a lvl 50 Summoner on level 60 of the Infinite Dungeon. I don't think I can "win" the ID. There are achievements at 70, 80, 90, 100, 150, 200, 300, 400, and 500 I noticed in the code. I can't imagine anyone ever getting to 500. I think I"m the first person to get achievements 40, 50, and 60, so I guess that's something.

It's a bit boring now. A few creatures still give me troubles. I encountered Telos on level 59 and he was tricky, as an eternal bone giant popped up behind me. took forever to kill them both. it was outside an opened vault too, so other critters kept coming out.

I haven't got this far in the main campaign so I don't know how hard these battles are.

Most monsters for me are now level 70-75 with about 2500 HP each, some though over 3000. At what point is this the case in the main campaign? Can anyone tell me the highest level you find for a monster in the main campaign?

I might try diving quickly to get to level 100 and rack up more achievements, and see how tough the monsters get, as it is a bit boring now, except for the awesome vaults. I've described a lvl 52 vault on my blog, but I've had better since then at lvl 59. I'm curious to see if the random objects keep getting better or not.

The most annoying thing about the ID I think is that the same artifacts keep dropping over and over again. I've lost count of how many Titanics I've collected. Though the Crystal thingy has only dropped once!

I started today a character in the ID for fun... He was level 3 (berserker) when he arrived on ID:3, having killed only rats and jellies until then. On this level he met a purple w, and seeing how long it was taking to kill it, I checked the tooltip... Sandworm Queen... what the hell??? After a few rounds, the Queen breathed sand for over 250 damage. Game over.

Re: Critter levels in main campaign, and HP levels, you'll see ~60-~70 level critters regularly in the very last zone in the game. HP in the multi-thousands is far from uncommon. Outside of that, there's a few places where you can come across level 90+ critters, which can be pretty vicious if you're not prepared, heh.

Ok, I'll look for level 90+ as I descend. One of the disadvantages is that you can't do anything with all the pearls etc you find, and some artifacts don't appear, so I'm finding it hard to create a character comparable to the winners I've studied in the main campaign. Perhaps as I dive deeper I can make do with randarts. My next goal I think is to max out resistances, and then stats. Hard to do both with randarts! I"ve found only one arcane resists (an arcanists hat) in 60 levels, at about 12% or so.

Are there randarts that increase all resists?
