So basic there are no posts on it... Light vs. Infravision

#1 Post by Bladyn »

HI all,

So... really basic question I guess. Light vs. Infravision. I think I see the difference and certainly have played enough old school D&D to think I understand it.

I now have the Summertide and Wintertide Phials. How does Infravision work in ToME? Seems to allow one to see monsters, but not items, etc... Is there a flag which causes some monsters to not show up? Really do not want to blunder into some nasty undead...

I brief entry on "Light" (etc...) in the Wiki might be useful.

Cheers...

I think Infravision is bugged in Tome4. It should detect warm blooded monsters in the dark... but apparently it works even with undead.

Undead are colder than their background. Cold with the frigidness of chilly death, and stuff.

It's not bugged there's just no distinction between heightened senses and infravision.

In other words, it's programmed to work like a LOS Detect Creatures.
