Ah yes you are not connected to your profile.

I thought I had that one fixed .. perhaps not.

I should maybe jsut rename stuff though: call a profile "online" and one "offline" ?

Online profile doesn't work for me in b20 at all (was working before). And I can't find a tome.team file anywhere...

I'm logged into my online profile in b20b, but that's probably only because I didn't log out last time I played b19.

Usually I simply delete the Tome4 folder as well as the profile folder, then download the next beta, connect to the online profile and start a new character. It has always worked until b20, downloading all the unlocks and such. For b20, I did the same thing, managed to connect to the online profile, got all my unlocks back as usual, started a new character... but once the character is generated, there's a message saying "switching to development profile".
I suppose it's due to the beta being "20b" instead of "20"... I'm going to wait for b21 since I'm playing with Yufra's patch for mindslayers anyway.

switching due to no online profile... very strange considering that it connects perfectly to the profile (http://te4.org/users/powerwyrm) when displaying the welcome screen, downloads all the unlocks and proposes all unlocked races/classes when making a new character... but once you enter the game with that character, there's the switch.

Check the log for lines starting with [ONLINE PROFILE] and see if you can see what's happening. It looks like the game tries to re-authorize you at the point you start creating a new character. If I recall correctly there should be a trio of lines saying auth, attempting to authorize PowerWyrm, not auth (if it's failing authentication at that point).

I never got a line saying "not authenticated" in the log, that's the problem...

Can I get clarification on what all is maintained in your online profile?
I initially thought the online profile maintained your characters, achievements, and unlocks, but I gather now that this is not quite true. The achievements and unlocks are available when you access your profile from another machine, but the character inventory is not.

If this understanding is correct (and my assumption is that player files, even a single one, is too large to save online), I have two possible suggestions for online profiles:
1) make a default keymapping available through the profile. Maybe an option from the ESC options menu to push it up and pull it down.
2) how about a way to look at Lore which has been unlocked across characters? Maybe this is more appropriate as an option on the web site.

AFAIK the online profile stores exactly that. the problem seems to be that when running beta20b your player is not connected to it. this would seem to mean that everything stored in your profile under achievements and unlocks will be downloaded on starting the game whilst logging in. however, every new unlock and ervery new achievement would not be stored online and only be available on the machine you were using at the time.
if everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane
