So, a newbie question. Does my level in stealth actually affect anything except the minimum distance from monsters I can stealth? The description doesn't mention anything else.

Stealth determines if someone can see you or not. For each person in line of sight, a test of stealth + bonus to stealth versus something like level/2 + Cunning/4 + bonus to see through stealth is made. If both values are equal, the chance is 50%, if stealth is 20 points higher (lower) than the other value, then the chance is around 0% (100%).
