Anyway I enjoyed the play. Here are some remarks.
On the interface:
In general great. The information on the target that you point is quite useful. Anyway, in some situations, it should be better to disable it. The window hides the underlying terrain and one of my mage died because I did not see that he was attacking himseld with a ranged spell. A good compromise IMHO would be to suppress the information window after some seconds, not to hide the battle field.
This information window should also indicate what items the npc is holding. Could be useful (and absolutely required when the rogues will be able to steal)
Many problems in the shops. For time to time, just after clicking 'yes', the interface considers that you have clicked on an item to buy and you are automatically proposed to buy it. And with the present shop bug you loose the corresping money even if you are not interested (fortunately the same bug allows you to regain it, but it takes time!)
In my XP computer, I have many graphic bugs. Mostly when I switch windows and that the tome window is covered by another one. The program may hang and has to be killed. Or the display is corrupted and all npc are just white circles. Or I loose the keyboard control and I have to iconify/deiconify te4 to regain it. Or more strangely, there is a shift of 4 squares upwards when pointing for an an information.
About the gameplay.
Great in general. Anyway, I think the number and power of egos is not sufficient, not talking of artifacts. For an archer, for instance:
- no bow or ammo ego or artifact
- rings/amulets are mostly useless for fighters (should have rings of speed, of defense, etc)
- no way to use a shield or a weapon with a bow
So after finding the phial, Hammerstand and frost treads, I just created my arrows and ignored any item on the floor but armors (and potions/scrolls, of course)... And after I found a good dwarven plate mail with fire resistance, I also ignored armors. A bit frustrating.
Some boss are incredibly nasty and destroyed all my previous characters. Boss power should be nerfed down IMHO.
The skill system is really great, though I do not really understand the usefulness of the talent/skill distinction.
The life and stamina regain rate is too low. Gaining a couple of points per turn would not make a real difference during a combat, but it would reduce the rest time after a fight that is very boring.
Why is there no way to regain stamina (energy drink....)?
Besides that te4 and tome are really great
