Blank Screen with Cursor and Music after launch

Hi,

I have no problems playing the game via Steam on my desktop PC. However, when I launch the game on my laptop via Steam or via the direct download version, I get only a black blank screen, cursor, and background music. My video drivers (Nvidia) are up to date... so I'm not sure how to proceed. Much appreciated.

Hey, a thing you could try is to manually edit the resolution config file (or just get rid of all the config files and let the game regen them)

They're found in %userprofile%\T-Engine\4.0\settings

I deleted the resolution.cfg file, but this didn't help at all.

Wait, just to clarify, does the game go black on launch or when you click new game from the main menu?

If it breaks when you hit "new game", go to %userprofile%\T-Engine\4.0\tome\save and delete the world.teaw file

It goes blank on launch before I’m able to select anything. When I launch (from either Steam or standalone), the screen goes to black background, a blank white box briefly appears, then the mouse arrow changes to the game cursor, then the music starts. The only thing I can do at this point is alt-Tabbing out of the game.

After it goes blank and you quit, could you send the te4_log.txt here from the install location of ToME (as an attachment please, not a copypaste)

I fixed my problem.

I changed the text in resolution.cfg from full screen to Windowed.... And, boom, it works now.
