Hi,
I have trouble in making feasible nightmare builds. Either I have no dmg or I crumble like paper (my normal builds does not work on nightmare) - i have to say i am not patient, i want to kill fast.
I have found only way with proc sun paladin which require no items (it has power spike with 1 point in shield of light from lvl 10 on), does not rely on crit (it is useles because proc does not crit), not much spelpower (it is handy though) and relies on defense not armor (so I can use 15% resist all robes). I can focus on con/dex and completly ignore str/cun plus have huge protection skills (retribution, providence, retribution, Ch. of Fortitude). This gives me good survivability. https://te4.org/characters/118645/tome/ ... afb9d23301
I have made test i created dummy with 100 armor/100% armor hardines/ 75% resist all and took 10 turns of beating (see screenshot). I can dish 27k dmg in 10 turns. With shield slam yielding 5k alone + giving me block.
Still I died like 3, some 80lvl Dragons, my Clone (was dumb idea to even chalenge it), and some random encounter.
Please can you share viable Nightmare builds that you use and do similar dmg while providing at least some survivability?

Re: Nightmare builds
I'm not sure if you have the DLC, but picking up tinkers from the tinker escort can greatly help with survivability on melee characters.

I consider, buying it. I have read reports that's like playing with cheatsovergoat wrote:I'm not sure if you have the DLC, but picking up tinkers from the tinker escort can greatly help with survivability on melee characters.

Re: Nightmare builds
Not cheat level unbalancing IMO, but tinkers definitely give quite a few options to most classes and can mitigate weaknesses. They come at the cost of a category point and a handful of generic skills points so there is some balance there, but definitely powerful.synek wrote:I consider, buying it. Re: Nightmare builds
So, this is best build possible?
Re: Nightmare builds
Just glancing at the character sheet, looks like a Sun Paladin wearing robes.
Because of the way damage calculations are done, heavy armor is way better than it appears.

Re: Nightmare builds
Even so, robes are still pretty good. On par with heavy/massive Imo due to res all + the offensive bonusesSDY wrote:Just glancing at the character sheet, looks like a Sun Paladin wearing robes.
