Hello!

I have now started to run Nightmare.
It is quite challenging and so far I only got an archmage to the east.
My favourite char, hobbit rogue, have a hard time.
Around lvl 12 I go to the tunnels but so far mainly steel daggers and one or two stray dwarven dagger.

After many games, 30+ I would estimate, I still haven't done much of a good game.

So just for a change, I try a necromancer.
And lo and behold, a VORATUN dagger drops the first game at the assassin lord.

This can not be random, can it?
The game and the so called random number generator is playing tricks on me.
GRRRRRR.

EDIT: Now that I check closer, the second dagger a stratelite one. :/

yeah, i always believed that while mostly RNG, it is also always leaning towards the least usefull item types.
as a wizard, you always get decent daggers.
as a rogue, you are sure to find some fancy staves.
as a oozy, you have a hard time finding any decent mindstars.
when you are strong, you rarely ever get rares or randbosses.
when you are week, you get the nastiest anty-you randboss you can.

and so on.

Ok, so I play a halfling/rogue for 5 months and I managed to get 2 to the final fight.
Both of them I failed miserably.

For example I had:
Wild physical
Wild mental
Heal
Regeneration
Movement speed
(I do not use shields because of RP reasons. Yes, I know, perhaps not very smart...)

All of them essential for my play it feels.
I have one point still to invest as I stand on the portal to the two wizards.
Do I need heroism? +19 die at -1017hp
I belive I do, but I have to scrap one of the others.
So after a long time I decide I do not need Wild Physical as much.
BAD MISTAKE.
I get blinded. I can not remove it more than once with that 'wheel' skill I get coming east and that one has a looooong cool down.
So YASD at the two wizards.

So why do I post in this thread??

Because next game when I come to the maze, what drops out of the chest?

I did play a rogue for 5 months, I do not know how many games, but a LOT.
NO voratun dagger as far as my eyes can see.
And ofc, after 5 months of failure with a rogue, I switch to mage, and we all know what drops in that case.

Some things to consider.

Doing all the tier 1 and 2 dungeons to get more randarts and artifacts.
Playing a stronger race/class to farm items and vault them over.
Experiment with different infusion/torque/equipment setups.
