Well, anyone who needs high powers to apply status effects or just wants to stats for "lol my weapon doesn't use str scaling."

Well, you could use timeless to improve the PES uptimester wrote:Shalore had nothing to do with PESvisage wrote:Basically, an interesting prodigy died because Shalore will never really get nerfed?ster wrote:imo PES didn't really need a nerf either
Re: [1.5] Most striking nerfs, balanced or overdone?
It didn't need its uptime improved though. But it does now.

Re: [1.5] Most striking nerfs, balanced or overdone?
You couldn't neither extend or reduce the cooldown on PES with timeless, dunno what people is on about in this thread
Re: [1.5] Most striking nerfs, balanced or overdone?
pes is a physical effect and the skill doesn't have a fixed cooldown. am i missing somethingdadito wrote:You couldn't neither extend or reduce the cooldown on PES with timeless, dunno what people is on about in this thread

Re: [1.5] Most striking nerfs, balanced or overdone?
Dwill has 33% uptime and it's great so I reckon PES isn't completely worthless, but one gets way less control over when it's used, maybe worth revising at some point.

Dude, an offhand silly joke by you doesn't change the fact that the Shalore are strongly favored by ToME. Yeah, nerf Ogres but not Shalore. Ever. *thumbsup* Gerd jorb

I'm getting tired of the "nerf {x} because I don't like people using {y} tactic/strategy" bullpuckey, that simple. It's getting just about as bad as DC:SS (Dungeon Crawl: Stone Soup), where you have devs pissing off the entire player base, simply because one or two of them got a wild hair stuck somewhere uncomfortable re: the "aesthetics" of a given type of win. Nearly every interesting-but-unintended synergy or emergent behavior is IMMEDIATELY stomped right out of existence, and no, it's not by player request or necessity (read their devblog, if you disagree). Admittedly the game IS free, so they can do as they like but in contrast, a substantial portion of ToME players paid for the privilege, thenkyew.

Re: [1.5] Most striking nerfs, balanced or overdone?
at least shalore takes some of a brain to use and doesn't really kick in till after the hardest part of the game (T2's). Ogre on the other hand had it all going for them, kickass life rating and pretty good racials across the board. Should shalore be nerfed? Probably. Do a lot of things need nerfs? Yeah. Are they gonna happen? Probably not.
1.6 will most likely crash the game anyways, unless all the changes do what they actually intend, with no side effects.

Re: [1.5] Most striking nerfs, balanced or overdone?
Perhaps so, but I've seen no real nerfs to the Shalore... Ever. I may have missed something, ofc, but that's what I've seen. So far, the apparent rule has been "nerf everything so it's crappier than the Shalore".
Re: [1.5] Most striking nerfs, balanced or overdone?
Shalore has had key timeless interactions nerfed before and IIRC in 1.5 it received an increased cooldown on timeless.

Re: [1.5] Most striking nerfs, balanced or overdone?
OK. Still not impressed.
Re: [1.5] Most striking nerfs, balanced or overdone?
There was actually a serious Shalore nerf submitted by someone for 1.5 (iirc it was that Timeless lost one of it's 3 effects, I think the cooldown reduction) but there was too much backlash so it got removed.
1.6 is going to be a massive shakeup with the changes to things like weapon scaling, early game randbosses, inscriptions, drowning etc so who knows what'll happen then.
