I feel like Belmarduk's channel with the Bulwark playthrough is very informative, especially for new players. I know it's a bit outdated now, but he expresses himself pretty clearly, and it's done pretty quickly but not too quick that you'll be missing information - I find a lot of videos are either aimed at experienced players so they fly through the screens, or they're extremely new and going through the skills can take several minutes.

I just wanted to pop in and say, I was unsure of which game to try as my first rougelike. I had been eyeballing several while trying to decide which had the qualities I wanted. Ive been playing EVE for almost a decade and needed a new long term fix. When I came across the actual site for this game here I was quickly impressed by the communication with its makers and within the community itself. This post combined with the suggested videos convinced me to pick it up.

Looking at these types of games reminded me of when I was younger, good ol D&D style, cool graphics, and Im already getting those feelings back and caught myself looking in my closet for old Dragonlance books, hah. My dwarf warrior made it to around level 5 before he died deep below. Im excited to start another tomorrow. I created my forum name in his honor as well.
