Hello
I have a good orange staff with 38% extra damage to fire.
+ a lot of other good things ofc.
Now I find a red staff with no less than 48% of light damage. Not as good elsewhere as the orange staff, but 48% sounds awesome.
I use Command Staff and the staff now has only 30% fire damage, so it went from 48% light to 30% fire. Not so cool anymore.
Is this how it should be?

Re: Command Staff
Some staves have a light +% damage ego. This is normal.
A little bit of a starters guide written by yours truly here.
Re: Command Staff
depends. did you had a 18% to light left over? or did that 18% just vanish?
Re: Command Staff
Not sure, but I do think I actually did have 18% light remaining.Radon26 wrote:depends. did you had a 18% to light left over? or did that 18% just vanish?
Re: Command Staff
All staves have a damage bonus, the damage type of which can be changed with Command Staff. Some staves can have an additional modifier to increase a specific damage type. This second bonus is not changed by Command Staff. The two bonuses are added together for display purposes if they are the same damage type.

Ok. I now killed the first altar boss in the slime tunnel.Effigy wrote:The two bonuses are added together for display purposes if they are the same damage type.
He dropped an orange staff with 54%(!) lightning damage.
So I use Command Staff and.... yes, 30% fire and 24% lightning remains.
What a nasty set back.

Re: Command Staff
Not quite. A few artifact staves don't grant Command Staff. Bolbum's Big Knocker grants a fixed Physical bonus; Crystal Shard, IIRC, has Arcane and Blight. And I believe Penitence grants Nature. The first two won't allow you to chang etheir element and I don't think Penitence does either.Effigy wrote:All staves have a damage bonus, the damage type of which can be changed with Command Staff.

Fixed artifacts don't have random mods, so they have their own rules of course. A fixedart can have basically any stat the developer wants it to have (or not have).
