invisible / stealth monsters
So my last character died to an elite orc assassin that I couldn't see and dealt tons of damage out of nowhere.. what do people do against stealth monsters? There are items with +see stealth, but they never seem to help. What sort of numbers do you need to detect them reliably? Are there other tricks?

Piercing sight, in the cunning/survival tree is very useful. All classes have access to this tree, and piercing sight is also available form escorts.

Beams, AoE, or just use a skill where you think assassin is. Artifacts like withering orbs, or illumination+blind infusion help to fight sneaky opponents too.grobblewobble wrote:So my last character died to an elite orc assassin that I couldn't see and dealt tons of damage out of nowhere.. what do people do against stealth monsters? Opinions are like assholes. Everybody's got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.

Kor'Pul guardian is a mage, if I'm not mistaken. It killed 3-4 of my mighty Maj'Eyal defenders before I had even seen it D:
But like the others said, Survival is worth your points sometimes. About how the "see stealth", I may be wrong, but it has something with your detection value and the enemy's cunning for stealth

No. It allows teledetection of monsters. If you have some means to see hidden monsters, remote ones will also be revealed (I think), but otherwise nothing more than on direct vision.grobblewobble wrote:Thanks.. how about the track talent, does it reveal hidden monsters too?

Have you tried digging through the wall right in front of/above it?hellruler wrote:Kor'Pul guardian is a mage, if I'm not mistaken. It killed 3-4 of my mighty Maj'Eyal defenders before I had even seen it D:

The Shade in Kor'Pul isn't stealthed; it's just in a dark room. Infravision, heightened senses, and Track can all help you see it first. Of course, since it's always in the exact same place every time, you don't really need to see it first once you're used to the stage.
