Well, to first start things off, I don't know exactly where to put this, so if any moderators or administrators know a better place to put this, then feel free to move it.
(Also I don't know if this is the correct version for forums, it was just downloaded off the main page and it was "Tales of Maj'Eyal 1.0.4";)
Onto the problem.
Whenever I launch ToME, I get a blackscreen. I can still hear the BGM music, however. (This is in 1280x768 resolution);
At first I thought that the resolution I was using wasn't supported, so I changed it to 1024x768 and tried to run it again, but it crashed immediately to my desktop.
My system specs are;
Windows XP Professional, SP3 32bit
CPU: Intel Pentium M processor 1.80GHz (at 1795 MHz)
Memory: 2040 MB
Graphics: Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family
Problem launching ToME.

Check the log file?
My feedback meter decays into coding. Give me feedback and I make mods.

Here is the entire log of te4_log.txt
I'd assume this is the problem? I have no config file in my "C:\Documents and Settings\Pulchritude\T-Engine\4.0\settings"
so I can't manually change it?
/edit
Nevermind, just had to edit resolution.cfg with Notepad, haha! My bad
.
It works now.

Re: Problem launching ToME.
I'm having the same problem, so I tried the no music version. Still not getting it to load.
Windows 7 Ultimate, 32-bit
I've attached the log file.
I'm not a programmer, but I can edit config files if told what to change.

Re: Problem launching ToME.
I have a similar problem, the game begins to start up, the loading screen appears, the music starts to play, the loading progress bar shoots across to around 78%, and then it all just hangs.
If anybody has any ideas on how to fix it, I'd be thankful of your time.
Attached the log file if that provides any clues.
My system is running Win Xp Home Sp3. ATI X1300 pro 256mb graphics card. DX version 9.0c. 2gig memory. INtel core 2 4400 @ 2.00ghz processor.

I had a similar problem and here's what i did (mileage may vary):Painterz wrote:I have a similar problem, the game begins to start up, the loading screen appears, the music starts to play, the loading progress bar shoots across to around 78%, and then it all just hangs.

1. I booted in safe mode (by running t-engine-launcher.exe). At this point resizing the window/changing resolutions led to all kinds of problems, but as long as i didn't do that, i was able to start a new game and from that point i was able to resize and everything seemed to work normally.
But... this wasn't an ideal solution, since it meant restarting in safe mode each time i wanted to start a new game (the .cfg files didn't seem to maintain the safe mode settings on exit) so a better solution (if it works in your situation) is:
2. Open C:\Documents and Settings\<User Name>\T-Engine\4.0\settings\shaders_active.cfg in Notepad and change true to false. At this point i can boot up in pretty much any resolution, although if i boot up in a large window so that part of it hangs into virtual desktop space ('off the screen') the launcher waits until the window is moved onto the screen for some reason.
Hope that helped.
