How to kill 6000hp boss that uses bloodbath?

#1 Post by aliksy »

Playing a summoner. Ran into some "Pride of Grushnak" boss-orc. It's got blood bath (10) and some other skills, and 6000 hp. It's basically eating up my summons and not losing any hp overall. Healing Nexus doesn't stop it.

I got him down to 70% once, but then right back up to 100%

It looks like draining stamina is out of the question, as is stunlocking, so that limits your options.

A golem with Unstoppable active might help with preventing kills, as would strategically detonating your summons, but you're in a pretty tough situation regardless. There might be some good ground effects you could maneuver him into as well.

I might try to use just the golem and detonate the squishy summons. Probably going to take a while

Do I need to kill that thing to progress the plot? I'm perfectly happy walking away.

All 4 pride bosses are required to clear the story, though you could walk away and come back after clearing the others, if Grushnak itself is the problem. Detonating helps too, and you might be able to buy your ranged summons some time with the rod of spydric poison, but Grushnak might be immune to that. (Don't have his stats in front of me, can't recall if he is or not.)

Might try insidious poison to reduce healing, or would bloodbath not be affected by that?

Are you talking about one of the orcs near the entrance of the Pride? If so, you could find a way to slip past him and proceed to the next level. It's not exactly safe, but if you can't scrape up a kill, it's better than just never beating the game.

I do recommend completing all the other prides, as well. You can always come back with a few more levels under your belt.

I beat him on nightmare with my summoner: http://te4.org/characters/2038/tome/abe ... 879d997fbc

Unfortunately its quite some time ago and I dont remember the exact strategy, but it is possible.

I think I Grand Arrival summoned Flamespitters to reduce his fire resistance and spammed my super awesome Fire Drakes ( I hope you have them 5/5  ).
Probably letting jellies die to get Equi ( or tanking normal mobs with them? I think I had enemies on multiple sides during the fight for some time ).
Maybe Hydras when he is distracted by the Drakes.
