Running in ACSII without starting the game?

#1 Post by TehGherkin »

Hey,

A friend of mine really wants to play ToME. Unfortunately the tiles don't seem to play well with his computer (Which is strange, his old one had a fraction of the power, maybe it's a driver issue? I'm not sure.)

Anyway he can't get into the game to change the options to tiles and hasn't found a config file anywhere to edit.

Is there a tiles build or anyway around this? I want him to enjoy too :D

Thanks in advance.

The tileset can be set from tome.gfx.cfg. Not sure where to find that in windows, but you should be able to search for it. Just change "shockbolt" to "ASCII" and you should be good to go (at least you'll have ASCII tiles, seems weird that Shockbolt tiles should be causing a problem in the first place though).
