The information for my alchemist's golem in the character vault fell out of sync with my regular character (i.e., my character's information would update normally but the golem was stuck at level 16). After some time I deleted the golem's information, thinking that perhaps if I kept playing with my character it would refresh with the current info, but it seems to be gone for good. I liked having my golem's stats in there - is there any way for the golem to be re-added into the vault?
Edit: Figured it out - it's just a matter of saving the game while the golem is the active character.
