I wasn't loged in when I donated.. How do I get the bonuses?
To be honest I was already trying to donate before I saw there were bonuses for it, but, now that I know I sorta want 'em ;c
I wasn't logged in when I donated, and the email I use for paypal is not the same as the one I used for my ToME account, what do?

While we're on the subject, I've been putting it off, but I don't paypal... Is there another way I can donate and get the bonuses (or even without, I'd be happy just to help). I just don't paypal. Besides, the popup says something about Euros or Pounds or something, and all I have are dollars...

Awesome, came on here to post this same thread. Maybe you should require a log in before you donate

Yeah it just gets converted when you donate it, I think. It will tell you how much it is in $$.random417 wrote:While we're on the subject, I've been putting it off, but I don't paypal... There wasn't when I asked, but that was six months ago. What I ended up doing was setting up a temporary credit card number to give to PayPal, which was enough to appease my paranoia on the matter...random417 wrote:While we're on the subject, I've been putting it off, but I don't paypal... As others have noted, PayPal takes care of the currency conversion for you. I think the going exchange rate is somewhere in the neighborhood of 1.5 dollars to the euro, so keep that in mind when allocating money.random417 wrote:Besides, the popup says something about Euros or Pounds or something, and all I have are dollars...

Is Paypal of ill repute? I've only used it once or twice.
Sorry about all the parentheses (sometimes I like to clarify things).

Yeah, they are. They store funds like a bank but aren't bound by any banking laws whatsoever. They have a history of freezing people's accounts and taking their money on a whim. There's no judicial oversight.bricks wrote:Is Paypal of ill repute? I've only used it once or twice.

On a whim? They always have a reason. The company wouldn't exist if they just selected people at random and said 'TODAY, YOUR MONEY IS MINE. TOMORROW, YOUR SISTER.'aardvark wrote:Yeah, they are. And even then, when they do that to people, it's not the buyers that get hit; in general, it's the sellers. PayPal is more than trustworthy for normal consumer level transactions.

So, it's what? "They're not me or anyone I know! They don't count!" Is that your basic argument?Silvermoon wrote:And even then, when they do that to people, it's not the buyers that get hit; in general, it's the sellers. PayPal is more than trustworthy for normal consumer level transactions.

What I'm saying is that, unless you are going to fight using PayPal as a matter of principle -- Which is a perfectly valid standpoint to take -- It's not going to do anything to you specifically unless you're doing something shady or potentially ground-shaking that would warrant them taking action.aardvark wrote:So, it's what? PayPal's ENTIRE BUSINESS MODEL requires them to be as honest as possible. If they aren't, they lose customers. Are there times they have done things they shouldn't? Depends who you ask. If you ask me, the answer is a firm 'yes'. They have done things they shouldn't.
But if the question is 'can you, as a consumer who isn't doing anything stupid, trust PayPal with your bank information to make a donation to DarkGod', then the answer is yes. Yes, you can.

Riiiight. That's what they said about the banking sector before the financial crash.Silvermoon wrote: PayPal's ENTIRE BUSINESS MODEL requires them to be as honest as possible. If they aren't, they lose customers.

I donated as well but apparently wasn't logged in when I did so, and do not have access to the stone warden. I also apparently cannot private message you, and cannot find your email?darkgod wrote:Hi,
