Complements on the writing!
I don't know if DarkGod wrote it himself or not, but the Lore entries in ToME have some of the most professional prose I've ever seen in a game.

The vast majority was written by Darren Grey, just Grey here on the forum.
Some of it was simply written by other contributors.

Thanks for the compliment :) I've really enjoyed writing stuff for ToME, and I'm glad others like reading it! There's a fair few others who have contributed pieces too.
Re: Complements on the writing!
I have to agree. I'm quite the connoisseur of fantasy and sci-fi games, books, movies, and worlds in general, and I have to say that this game has some of the most intriguing, complete, and yet internally consistent lore, plot, and development I've ever seen. I honestly think this game has better lore behind it than Dragon Age Origins, and that had years of work from professional writers, including two whole novels behind it.
Better yet, the lore written in this game meshes quite smoothly with the game itself, letting the player feel the lore, as opposed to just reading it. The Spellblaze is clearly something that is still impacting the world, and the prejudice against mages, while not overt in the game, is still something that I carry around in the back of my mind as I love playing mage classes. I can see the way the Shaloren shelter themselves, hoping their part in the Spellblaze will be forgotten. I can understand how the Zigurath feel, with the hated mages that experimented on them going on to ruin the world. I mourn for the loss of the Naloren. I can imagine the orcs storming across Eyal with their recently mastered magics.
This is half of what keeps me hooked on the game, over and over again. I love it.

I agree, the writing is excellent. The graphics are also great, very professional looking.
Hey Grey, I just have a little suggestion. There's a quest you get to go kill a crazed cursed guy in a Lumberjack Village. I think that storyline ends there? Well if it doesn't, sorry. But if it does, then I think it could be developed more, with some more cursed bosses attacking other locations and possibly even attacking you in the worldmap like adventurer parties, leading to the player finishing the evil that is cursing innocent villagers. (Or becoming the evil...)
