Resetting NPC personal reaction

#1 Post by tsm_sf »

Hi folks!

I don't want to make this spoilerish in any way so I'll leave out the specifics. Basically, I have a situation where an NPC is supposed to talk to me after a big fight, but he's hostile to me. I don't think I hit him in any way (im a bulwark and had my back to the wall, so AoE is unlikely) but he's definitely on my case.

I saved and quit right away, but I'm wondering if there's a way to make this guy non-hostile? I'm worried that I'll mess up a large quest if I kill him.

Thanks!

As a Yeek you could use their racial ability to dominate him and as either defiled class you could use thrall hex. As a bulwark(and likely not Yeek), I'm really not sure, barring cheat mode. >_<

Mind you, yeek-dominating him *will* kill him after a short while - and I dont know whether or not it would actually make him talkable. Does he have the little talk-symbol even when hostile? If so, you *might* try a non-attacking move into him, just to see.

Sirrocco is right, it will kill the npc after a few turns. But @ Sirrocco- I've actually done both of these tricks before as of B39 after angering npcs like the lost merchant, they probably still work.

Thanks guys!

Yes, not a yeek as a bulwark :D

I'm hoping that there's a console command or similar? This seems like a bug, and I'm not averse to any kind of solution.

Thanks again.

Well, if there's a console command to give yourself a skill, you could hack yourself a mind control power, control him, and then hack yourself to remove it again.

I personally have no idea what console commands there are, but that one wouldn't surprise me.

If he enables cheat mode, he can actually alter the faction of the npc to be non-hostile. He would scroll down to the "enemies" faction and set it to neutral or friendly. "_

Slightly off-topic, but since someone mentioned the lost merchant - I'm pretty sure you can complete that quest even after having angered him. Just kill the Assassin Lord and leave, and he will be in his shop as normal.
