Disengage
I just installed this game and trying it out. I'm playing an archer with the talent Disengage. The description makes it sound like Phase Door. I see messages that say my character is using Disengage but my character doesn't go anywhere. What gives?
Re: Disengage
It must be directed at an enemy. Use the talent, click on the enemy, and you will jump in the opposite direction.
Maybe the talent description needs to make this more explicit?

Re: Disengage
You target an enemy with Disengage, and you move away from it. It's pretty awkward to use.
Sorry about all the parentheses (sometimes I like to clarify things).
Re: Disengage
Awkward? I always thought it was intuitive when the ability auto-targets enemies.

Re: Disengage
Thanks for the replies. My problem was that I had my back against some trees so I couldn't teleport directly away from the enemy. I kept thinking Phase Door. Anyway, it might be helpful to expand the description to include something about moving directly away from the enemy. Now that I know how it works I'll make sure to pick a better spot to fight.
Re: Disengage
I'm talking more about general use, compared to, say, a directed teleport. You have to draw an imaginary line backwards from your target and hope it doesn't hit any obstacles. Many other mobility options are more practical; it's an OK skill but I don't think it's stellar enough for a routinely locked tree.Rectifier wrote:Awkward?
