Greater Multi-Hued Wyrm

#1 Post by Tom »

Hello.

I was minding mostly my own business when I suddenly met two of theese greater multi-hued wyrms.
One at lvl 57 and the other one at lvl 54.

Your servant is only at lvl 24 and feel, despite 5/5 in Militant Mind (Only 1/5 in Duck and Dodge but size difference must make en enourmous help, no? :) )and 1/5 in spell shield it just wont cut.
Resistances are not very good either I must admit.

What is there to expect of this encounter if I try it out?
Do their breathspells become worse ala Angband if I manage to flurry them down to splinters, or is it at maximum strength even if they are at death's door?

You can expect blinding, silence, and lots of damage, most likely leading to death unless you are both careful and lucky. Their breath attack damages are not linked to HP.

Thx.
With tail between my legs, and a promise to return, later, I teleport out of the vault....

... into another vault with something red on the ground and plenty of elite archers who pinned me to the ground and reduced my life to half with a volley of well aimed arrows.
It is at that moment a wand of teleportation is just what one needs.
*Brrr*

Ok.
After taking care of The Master, I opened a lava floor vault on lvl 9.
In there was a lot of Fire Dragon/Wyrms.
As one of the alchemists needed that I decided to try them out.
At XP lvl 28, 4 lvls above what I was when I met the Greater Multi-Hued Wyrms that are lurking on lvl 1, I realise I was glad I did not try them.

Two Fire Wyrms was hard, but with some Movement and Teleports in between some serious hitting they bite the dust.
This despite beeing both careful and lucky. ;)
