Updating the T-Engine: Can we still save our old ToME games?

#1 Post by apocalis20 »

So, after nearly a year of playing ToME I thought I'd look at the site and see if there are any updates. Apparently, I was 13 revisions behind, so I downloaded the newest beta immediately. However, I just realized that I don't know where the save files for any of my characters are, and apparently I can't use the synchronization service (beta15 always failed to register me) to even just make use of my unlocks, never mind saving my old games.

So, here I am, freshly registered, to ask this: is there any way I can move or copy my characters from my old beta15 T-Engine to the new beta28 one?

To be honest, I could let go of my characters, but I'd rather not, so there. ^^

Hoping to get a swift reply.

Miscellaneous info:

Old version: 1.0.0beta15b (this one has my old characters)

Current: 1.0.0beta28

Your old characters are essentially gone.

There is no guarantee that a character save will last across any beta.

I would suggest you start again. There is as some sort of compensation for your pain, considerable extra stuff in the form of new classes, extra content, extra monsters, more quests, and so on. Its a lot of fun!

If you want to play your b15 characters you'll need to play on b15.

Not sure about the unlocks... did you have many? I think there was a problem in the change to b18 or so with some people's profiles not carrying over.
