[1.3] Shield of Light not healing

As an Ogre Sun Paladin, it seems I have an issue with Shield of Light.
According to spelling, I'm expected to get healed every time I am hit, but while I got Barrier up, it doesn't heal (when it's down, it does).
Is it my own misunderstanding?
Other damage effects didn't seem to work properly as well, such as Reaver's vim regenerating spell (forgot the name), hitting with it a shielded target returned 0 vim.

If the damage is reduced to 0, many effects don't count it as a hit.
They should really say hurt, rather than hit.
