What bugs was the Inner Eye causing?

This commit shows the artifact commented out with the note that it's "causing more bugs than it's worth". What exactly was it causing?

I forget how, but certain conditions caused creatures to totally ignore the player while he was wearing that item.

Yeah, this was fixed. I haven't been on IRC much lately (taking a break from it) so I'm not sure what darkgod's reasoning was. Maybe someone found a new issue with it playing in the SVN.

Might be due to this thread. I don't know if that was really the cause of the bug, but it seems suspicious.
