a few vampire tiles

#1 Post by Mushroomhermit »

I've kind of had mixed feelings about these (mostly the first one) so give me some feedback and point me in the right direction on these.

Master Vampire, Vampire, Lesser Vampire.

I have no idea where to go with elder vampires, vampire lords, and the ever troublesome Master.

I really like the 3rd one(although it could perhaps be used for the standard, non-lesser Vampire) which is immediately recognizeable as a vampire.

The 2nd one isn't bad, although looks more like a generic Cultist/Dark priest/Necromancer than a vampire to me.

As for the 1st it's just weird - I see something like a dark butterfly/moth with an evil aura(which might be intentional :)).

Actually I think I like the first the most.
Maj'Eyal vampires are not the cuddly twilling "I glow in sunlight" beings, they are monsters that rip your throat and drink your blood while you agonize in terrible pain. :)

I'd say the other ones should be more like this, with varying auras of power maybe ?

I think the third one looks coolest :) I've always liked vampires that have a bit of class... Perhaps the Master should be shown with his staff? And the other vampires could have different coloured robes - crimson or royal purple.

On the one hand I can understand - no I agree with DG not to emulate recent fiction with glittering-in-the-sunlight-vampires. On the other hand most traditional vampire stories - one might think about the stories about Dracula - show vampires, especially older and powerful ones, with a certain decadency and flair. They might be terrible monsters, but they also are very intelligent beings, that had decades to polish their appearance.

A being, almost human looking, in a - very expensive - cape/robe ... dark aura flaring around him. Is how I imagine those 'V's at the moment. As such: add a nice aura to the last one, and you have one of my favorites.

I suppose to hunt out 32x32 of Claudia, Louis, Lestat, Santiago and Armand would be asking for trouble ? :)

Made the other two finally. I'm not even going to try to say which is which... I'll let DG figure it out.
