1.0.5j background saving continues indefinitely

Like the subject says, 1.0.5j's background saving feature will continue indefinitely, up to and past 10,000%. If the game attempts to save again, e.g. while changing zone, the pop-up bar will reach 100% and the game will become unresponsive, requiring you to end the process via Task Manager. Disabling background saving doesn't appear to help--the pop-up bar still freezes everything.

Attempting to reload one of these "broken" saves resulted in my inability to enter shops in Derth, as well.

Here's the screenshot... I have no clue how it let me into the Arena, but I was unable to leave.
