Since the old module threads got all wiped out in the hacking incident, I think I should put something new here so that the forum isn't completely empty.
Theme is my favorite ToME 2 module. It's like vanilla ToME but has a ton of extra stuff: races, monsters, dungeons, artifacts, item egos... Naturally, the Tolkien theme is very strong in it. I haven't played it in a while since it isn't compatible with the new in-development version, but I remember it fondly.

Since this may be gone from the forums, figured I'd paste it in here.
If you're on a Mac, Theme is apparently not compatible with any Tome 2.3 version. I was having problems with crashes and saving characters, and emailed the developer. His reply:

About a year ago someone else had the same problem as you are having
and he was only able to play Theme normally on OSX if he downgraded to
ToME 2.2.7I don't have access to a Mac anywhere and so I've
generally needed to rely on players' bug reports and suggested fixes
as I can't test anything myself. Unfortunately, Theme just does not
work properly with ToME 2.3.x on OSX; I will list this as a known
issue when I find time to work on the module again. Sorry about that.

Re: Theme
(This is mostly for Nerdanel
).
I'm playing Theme on 2.3.x (CVS) Linux.
Some of the fixes to ToME in the 2.3.x series haven't made it in since they're in the Lua bits which have been copied into the Theme module, but otherwise it works just fine for me.
There was also a bug in modules.c which was affecting all modules which would prevent them from working properly. I don't know if this ever made it into any released version (I suspect not). See
http://wiki.t-o-m-e.net/BugReport624
I could also imagine this very same problem causing immediate crashes (and such) if you're running with some kind of extra buffer overflow protection (which OS X might do), so it's worth checking if this is what's causing problems on OS X.
EIDT: Just realized that I read Nerdanel's post as "Theme isn't working on 2.2.x"... which isn't what it says. Still the mentioned bug may still apply to OS X.

Re: Theme
I was thoroughly enjoying Theme on my Mac running OS X.5.8, though when I first downloaded and installed it, it would not recognize any of the save files I had from previous games, nor does regular T.O.M.E., when I got an error out of the blue with the a_info.txt file a few days ago, and now the bloody thing won't open at all. It just keeps giving me stupid error messages when I try to open Theme, and I'm quite disappointed
