Eye of Druj princess room

#1 Post by Iniqui »

In level 59 of Mordor, I've got the princess room with 6 locked doors and a total of 8 of these mobs; 4 on each side.

The Eye of druj summons help!
The Eye druj casts a nether ball.
You feel your life draining away!

I've been turned away from this room twice and I haven't gotten close enough to even touch them. If I keep trying, they're going to get lucky and kill my char.

Anybody have any ideas? I've found a helmet that provides antimagic and carries a foul ancient curse. Could I use that to help clear the room?

I've got a reasonably sturdy swordsdwarf with low immunities and is only missing chaos resistance.

Thanks

Skip the level using the Thunderlords to teleport level. It isn't worth messing with them for a princess reward. You probably don't need a long sword of slay orc or armor of resist acid.

If you had Antimagic at a high level and a dark sword you could just walk up and beat them to death. Magic users can take them out using splash effects. Grow Trees or some other terrain modification spell can at least ensure that they only get one shot at you before you can start fighting.

You can also skip the level without spending anything on Thunderlord teleportation. Just stair-scum (regenerate the level by going up and down stairs) until you find a downward shaft on level 58 and use it to descend multiple levels past the princess.

That works for me. I lost my last higher level char trying to prove something by clearing a similar room for no good reason at all.
