Posessing a greater kraken or leviathan, on the other hand isn't so bad, although doors become a problem.
Digitochracy
n. 1. technocracy. 2. government by the numbers. 3. rule by people with the longest fingers.

Leviathans don't have resist water - kind of odd for the 'true master of the ocean', no?

Drifting back to the original topic...

I must be something of an oddball; I play with 33 quests, which works out almost exactly to one quest every three levels. Gives me a nice stopping point: I can sit down with a character and say, "I'll play him to the next quest level." I've occasionally considered bumping it up to 49, for one quest every two levels, but I worry that that could stick me with a quest on level 1... :o

Now that teleporting to Angband has been disabled, I almost always choose 49 quests. This is enough to get a decent shot at learning a useful skill from FumbleFingers, but not so many that you'll necessarily get a quest for 15 leveled Hrus.

...so, at 49 quests, is the first quest at level 1 or level 2? :)

2. Nice not running into baby dragons, Wormtongue, or other nasties at level 1.
