Wow! Loremasters get the second place above wariors. That is not surprising, all my characters tend to have at least one loremastery skill: symbiosis or summoning preferably. Even the mimicry could be very useful in some situations, my deathmold sorcessors were almost imposible to play without it. That is especially true on the quest levels, because there is no teleportation on some of them. Once I have to summon animals till some worms appear, wait them multiply, then swap position with recall to get to the stairs. Back to the mimicry, the mouse form seems to be ideal for sorcesors: benefits are usefull and drawbacks are irrelevent to sorcessors.
But there is some strange behavior of mimicry together with possession. The mimicry of some forms (e.g. wolf or mouse) should give some speed increase but my possesor in Eol's body actually had his speed descreased in the wolf or other forms. Should I report it as a bug or this is expected behaviour?
Anyway entish possessing loremasters are very fun to play.

My vote goes for the Anti-Magic Archer. The total lack of utility spells and rods/staves/wands means you spend a lot of time wandering around looking for stairs/ FF quest monsters/etc, but as long as you have the right ammo, the final bad guys genuinely become trivial. They can't summon or cast spells or otherwise hit you at range so they try to charge you, but you get about 5 shots/turn and are doing 1,000-1,500 damage per shot. A few phase door scrolls mean they never get swing at you. The fact that your shots pierce, so you could be doing 1,000-1,500 damage to up to 5 monsters per shot is just icing on the cake.
I've had thaumaturges who had better utility capability and more firepower (and I was sorely tempted to vote for Thaumaturges), but nobody could take down uniques like DeadZone the WoodElf Archer http://angband.oook.cz/ladder-show.php?id=2661 , my first character to kill Morgoth. I retired him after that, but now I really wish I had taken him into the Void.

Ars: Mimicry cancels possession, or is it possession that cancels mimicry .. anyway you cant use both.
My best(and very fun) char was Fangorn the Ent Hermit Warrior.
I've just reread the dump .. ahh the memories .. what a fun char it was
Poor Judy, you are still, and always will be, missed until the day we finnaly meet again in the Halls of mandos.
One of my most .. erm .. whacko char was surely Burny the High-Elf Mage specialized ni Fire and Monster-Lore skills. He used Fire Golem as his main attack spell
Wqas really fun!

[tome] joylove: You can't just release an expansion like one would release a Kraken XD

Elliot: Thank you very much. You've just inspired me to try out an anti-magic Archer............ Right after my clvl 32 Hobbit Swordmaster bites the dust (or, alternatively kicks Morgoth in the shins a few times).
Darkgod: Man, you're a weird guy, but I guess you already knew that..

And it was such a good idea...
Yet another remark on mimicry.
An ent trying to use mimicry with the entish bark will become the Elder Ent, and the mimicrying is accompanied with some 'uneasy feeling' message. Do the Elder Ents have some special powers? Or do the message means that the original ents feel bad pretending that they are more entish than they are in reality?

Oh, I see here struggle between sorcerors and loremasters. They are better than other classes because they have the widest range of powers to play with, and this makes them very interesting and very powerful.
My best char was Thunderlord LostSoul Symbiant. Teleported out of HoM with with G.Rotting Q, then changed to G. Draconic Q in the SLoM and later to master Q. Tactics: Summon, summon, summon!

My best character was my lowest winner on the ladder. How low? Mackie gained level 48 by killingTik'imnotlookingupthespellingat. (Cause of death? Bah!)

At the time it was the lowest winner on the ladder.
The funny thing is, I started the character as a joke, because I hadn't realized before then (despite my extensive Sorceror experience, including a winner) that Ent's Potion would satisfy hunger!
