OK. I've spent more time awake than I should to beat this thing again. And I even have a cloak of air, and with some nice summons am actually still alive. I'm at level 149 and trying to get to 150 (I remember reading Morgoth is down there after killing him the first time).
It tells me that I need the Flame Imperishable to pass. Is that found on level 149? Or elsewhere? It's just that I've had a good look around 149 and can't find anything, but I have so many summons up finding things gets hard. I just want to know if I need to look harder, or whether it isn't here at all... Anybody remember that bit?

It's found elsewhere ... There's a portal to the nether realm, somewhere on 148 (I think). You need to go in there, fight your way to the bottom, kill the boss, get the flame, use it on something (long sword, pdsm, heavy crossbow, or mage staff), fight your way back out, and then go beat up Melkor.

You know, I didn't know about archive.org. I have certainly checked caches etc, but couldn't find anything useful. This is pefect. Thanks.
It'd be a shame to lose that info, even though I know in theory ToME 2.x is dead and has been for ages. The thing is, ToME 2.x is so balanced and fun that every now and then I come back to it...
