Does luck carry over with a quick start?

I was playing as a hobbit hermit sorcerer (kept on getting instakilled by traps), and both times I managed to find out my luck (either by greater identify or a death fate (survived)), it was 0. Now that I think about, it does make since, but does luck carry over when you quick start a character?

Luck is a stat like any other; it just isn't displayed ordinarily. Look up the documentation on the wiki if you want to know what exactly influences it. Since quickstart always makes the same character, you'll always have the same luck at the outset, though of course equipment can change your luck.

If you want to confirm this, you can create a new test character, go to wizard mode and self examine, suicide and repeat.
