Problem on TOME 2.3.5 with the thieves quest

Hello,

I haven't played TOME for quite some time now (a bit more than a year). I though I would start a new caracter (someone simple) on the last 2.x build. Unfortunatly I am stuck on the thieves quest. I killed every one, but I can't find the staircase (in my memory it appeared after finishing the last thief)... could someone help me? (I verified on the edit file describing the thieves hideout, but I don't see any < )

It's in the bottom-middle square of the south-west room. If it's not there, there's a thief still alive somewhere (they teleport after stealing from you).

Hum sorry, that's where I looked first, unfortunatly found nothing. I verified that all the thieves I met didn't flew (or where killed promptly). I even tried with wizard mod thinking I would see it more easily, but still nothing. I retried a few time (copying save file, I know it is bad but I don't get why it won't open) and always the same problem... I wonder if it is not a bug under virtual machines (I use WinXP in a KVM Virtual machine)... strange though

What does your quest log say?

The quest menu ( ^Q) say I beat the thieves and saved bree.... but it told me that the moment I entered the thieves hideout so I find it quite strange.
