You feel your life draining away in temple

Hi
I am worshipping Melkor. Doing my first temple quest and noticed something weird.
If I cast "Globe of Light" while praying, I lose experience.
Unfortunately I did some experimenting so lost a fair bit. I'm pretty sure it wasn't happenning outside the temple.
What gives? Is it to counteract the fact that globe of light is really cool in the temple because it kills through the glass walls (which I also just discovered - might have to try that in princess quests too.)

Edit: Scrap that - think it must just be the nether mist, which I was completely ignoring until then. Man - that sucks, I though mist was just bloody annoying (pisses me off), but not actually harmful.

No, the weird mists in Melkor Temples drain experience.

From memory there is also the same mist in the Sandworm lair? Does it also drain XP too?
How about the mist in the Manwe temples? Or is it just there to be really annoying by not letting me run through it and hiding traps.

I am playing a Manwe character right now and i am going to say that they don't but i have only done one god quest so far. I don't spend a load of time on god quests anyway, so my memory is a little shaky.

Manwe mist doesn't drain XP.
