what would be the most entertaining for a DiTL

#1 Post by christopher »

I've been thinking of writing a DiTL for one of my new race/classes in ToME and 1/2 mod, but not sure which. I've got a few test character going, so I figurred I'd just ask which ones would be most entertaining for you. The characters are:

Galmderad the Great-eagle blessed Ascetic. Using barehand combat, dodging, mindcraft and prayer, worshipping Manwee. Probably my best chance of winning. (about 1/20 instead of 1/500).

Ug the Balrog barbarian berserker. Using the new revised berserking (which will be in 0.0.4 release) and swordmastery, a pure hack and slasher worhsipping Melkor for curse. Very nice.

Twoflower the Yeek youthling Tourist. Bassicaly all points going to symbiosis and magic device, and If I survive long enough will just chain-summon everything. Not very likely to win

Igor the Nazgul classical spellsword. Mostly using melee, but occasionally using divination or earth. He's been pretty unlucky

and lastly, Yar the human knight pirate. Stealth, combat and magic rolled into one. probably overpowered.

Anway what do you think? I'll probably start writting maybe the weekend.

ROFL, don't forget the Novice Mage companion! Maybe you should also make him start with the Robe of Great Luck. Now if only we could get the equivalent of the Luggage in there somehow, you would have a chance of winning.

Your Luggage enters a berserk fury.
Your Luggage tramples Melkor.
Melkor is confused.
Your Luggage tramples Melkor.
Melkor flinches in pain.
Your Luggage tramples Melkor.
Melkor flinches in pain.
Your Luggage tramples Melkor.
Melkor flinches in pain.
Your Luggage tramples Melkor.
Melkor flinches in pain.
Your Luggage tramples Melkor.
Melkor flinches in pain.
Your Luggage tramples Melkor.
Melkor flinches in pain.
Your Luggage tramples Melkor.
Melkor cries out in agony.
Your Luggage tramples Melkor.
Melkor cries out in agony.
Your Luggage tramples Melkor.
Melkor cries out in agony.
Your Luggage tramples Melkor.
Melkor cries out in agony.
Your Luggage tramples Melkor.
Melkor cries out in agony.
Your Luggage tramples Melkor.
Melkor turns to flee in terror.
Your Luggage swallows Melkor.

And of course the Novice Mage companion would need to have Speed +30 and the ability to blink self and teleport self. And summon The Silver Horde every 10,000 turns or so.

The Human Pirate. (Who's not in the poll, btw.) I don't think anyone's DitL'd a human before.

I think the race and class of a character has very little to do with how interesting a DiTL is. Write about whichever one interests you and is the most fun.

 Forgot to include him, whoops. A chose human because no other races seemed to fit (a balrog pirate? ) and because Humans get an extra skill point a level compared to other races in my mod (7 instead of 6).

I think I might do a DiTL of the tourist even if I do another one, I'll probably only have to write one chapter anyway. :P

(time passes)

I am still going to write a DiTL BTW, but my current character is doing really well for a change and I'm waiting till I finish with him before starting a new one.
