Following zasvid's idea by other volunteers may result in several new topics that will quickly sunk down, will be forgotten and hard to find.

Idea of new "shortcuts" forum would result in very quick and very efective way of searching. Try to search for, f.e., "God quest" and results will flood you, while only few of them are really helpfull. And those few, if gathered by some good soul, could be put in "Shourtcuts" forum.
I know what you mean about searches. I tried to search for one of my own threads the other day and couldn't find it. (I could have done it by brute force but didn't feel like skimming 40+ pages of a forum.)

The problem is, how do you organize something like that? As much as we try to stay on topic, threads do span multiple topics at times... and even though a thread is putatatively about one topic, it may contain a tiny but important gem of information about something else.

What do you do about this? Well, it would help if the search engine were better. (I'll spare you my pointless ponderings about keywords and indices, which will never work.)

I was thinking about chronicling the adventures of my next character (after I take Kain, my L50 RK swordmaster, to victory), but I was thinking of blogging it on BlogSpot, Livejournal or something. Then you could use RSS feeds to check up on how this random stranger whom you don't know and don't necessarily give a fig about is doing... maybe I should have thought this through first.
What do we want? Brrrraaaiinsss...
When do we want it? Uhh... noooow?

I can swear this thread changed into "sticky" for a moment, or was it my imagination.
It's a pity it wasn't permanent change.
It's still near the top of spoilers, but how long?
Pbrrt...
I love all those onomatopoeias scattered all over the games...

It WAS sticky.... I saw it, too. Someone must have un-stuck it. :(

Maybe it got un-stuck because it was sticky above the Forum Etiquette thread. I think if a post is made to 'refresh' the Forum Etiquette thread, that one will be at the top of the forum and this one would come below it? *shrugs*

I like the idea of a forum for these things, maybe as a sub-forum of Spoilers. I don't know if sub-forums are possible in the regular release of phpBB, but I heard that there's a hack out there that allows for sub-forums.

from what I can tell, only moderators/DG can make a thread sticky..this is why that if it was sticky it has become unstuck? :? :?

anyway, all we need to do is every so often someone come and post a reply, that way it will always be on the front page! :P :P

Should Neil's Troll Warrior really be on the list.

I seem to remember that one being singularly unhelpful.  :D

Maybe that's the very last of the Knights Who Say "Ni" :D

Neil's Troll Warrior is so funny, I just couldn't resist putting it here :D

How *did* it get unstickied? Oh wait, I know. I un-stickied it because these stories already filter to the top when in-progress, so there's no need to flood the forum further with this topic.

But it's an archive (or arkive???) of the stories. It gives people a reference to more if they want to read them.

I named it "arkive" because I wanted it to be easily searchable by search engine and as I didn't know (and didn't bother to check) how many times word 'archive' would pop up in search, I coined this alternative spelling.

Searching for "stories archive" would work, too.
