"A day in the life" stories Arkive
I made little searching and gathered links to all "A day in the life" stories into this post, so it will be easier to access and read them all if you want, because they're quite different from other things in the spoilers forum and good readin'. I apologise if I missed any story's thread, tell me and I'll add to the list.

one thing that I would like to see however, if at all possible is what char's do these travel logs have to deal with?

people don't seem to like new forums, what zasvid is doing is great!Ulf wrote:How's about a new forum for the things?

(personal experience when I suggested a new forum for something, I forget what it was for.)

I don't know about useful, but I've certainly bookmarked this thread. DitL stories are always pretty entertaining, especially Mayliths
And yeah, I personally wouldn't mind seeing a board for these. It'd keep them all nicely together.

IMO it's a good idea to make it sticky... however, I remember that Neil doesn't like sticky threads, so I'd wait for his opinion
So, to mods: make it sticky if you like, or say you don't mind it (and I'll make it sticky) or say you mind sticking it.
As for sorting by time - I thought about it when creating but couldn't think of right criteria - 1.whether to sort by date of first post or last post? 2.And do you want it sorted with the newest at the top or the bottom?
(duh, multiple polls in one thread (however only one 'proper' and I can't edit it
that's not nifty. but, it doesn't matter that much) ... kinda my own mini-forum, isn't it?

I suggest that instead of doing this thread, that future threads of that kind be recommended to have a certain tagline in the subject. That way one can easily search for those threads without having the work of maintaining this list.
People could even go back and add the tagline to previous threads of that type.

I love Day in the Life stories, they inspired me to try many new race/class combos, and to do my own story too.
I would love to see them in a forum of their own, I think if they were in a forum they'd inspire more people to share their own.
These are excellent reading for beginners, somewhat experienced players (like me) and veteran players alike, I think, as there's always a strategy another person will think of that might not have occurred to you and may save your life.
So this list is definitely very useful - there are a few stories there that I have not seen yet *goes off to read them*

But Neil, then we'd have to create a sticky thread to tell everyone what the tagline is!

1. Sort by date of first post. Recently updated threads will pop up to the top of the forum on their own.
2. I can see it either way.

Sorting done (wasn't THAT hard, actually
). I guess that older threads shall go first, as the new threads usually pop up higher in the forum by themselves.
As for Neil's idea -> it is somewhat unintuitive. I believe it could be made to work, but maintaining this thread isn't taking much time and effort after all (and now, when it's shaped, it only would take updating the list with newly popping up stories). OTOH, this state would stay as long as I am willing to work on it (and to visit these forums at all) and Neil's method would guarantee the continuity of story-gathering. (and separate forum would solve all problems except from 'this forum has two pages of subforums and tons of misplaced threads'). Duh, every solution has its drawbacks.

Apart from lovely idea of having separate forum fo DitLs, I just thought that having new "Shortcuts" forum or sticky thread would be extremely nice. Following zasvid's idea by other volunteers may result in several new topics that will quickly sunk down, will be forgotten and hard to find.
Idea of new "shortcuts" forum would result in very quick and very efective way of searching. Try to search for, f.e., "God quest" and results will flood you, while only few of them are really helpfull. And those few, if gathered by some good soul, could be put in "Shourtcuts" forum.
