Your favor will be granted. It's just that I can hardly believe that I'm the only one who's doing so. And all I wanted was to give evidence of that the most people do it. But perhaps I'm *really* wrong. Guess I'll stop that now, not at least to dwell me any enemies.

Hrus:I can't help you at close range. You'll just have to grit your teeth and take them on. At long range, though, you might try the following trick:

The Hrus are in a group, right? And they're out for blood, correct? OK--teleport to the other side of the dungeon. Hrus can only spot you from 300 feet away--that's 30 squares. So go within 30 squares of the group until they start to chase you (you can tell even if you don't have ESP since the walls start dissolving), then hightail it in the opposite direction (by foot, not teleport). Now wait for them to come to you. If you did the trick correctly, only the Hru in the group that's closest to you will have noticed you and come after you. Kill him, then repeat.

This trick only works if A) you're faster than a Hru, B) you're sure you can take one out  and C) the monsters are clustered in a group.

Also works with Nightcrawlers, Balrogs and Morgoth :o

Yeah, you've got to pick off those Morgoths one at a time.

Black reavers. They have absurdly powerful spells and melee, they can tunnel through walls, and they have a massive number of hitpoints.

Ach, nien, you lure Morgoth away from those crowds of monsters he's summoned to kill you. Since he'll come after you from farther away than any of them, you can just teleport away and wait for him to come back, sans his entourage.

Yes, and how else do you deal with those ten little Morgoths dancing before you? :-)

Skull druj anyone?

Really, I hate those guys. They blast you with water balls, then summon hideous undead abominations right next to you... The same goes for other druj, but skull druj are by far the worst. Oh yeah, and when you manage to get one for a symbiote, its spells are suddenly less than half as powerful as they used to be.

And one of my all-time favorites: ethereal hounds. Have 3 powerful breath attacks, devestating melee, and can move through walls. And they seem to have ESP, 'cause whenever I get within 200 feet of them, they zoom right up to me, even if I'm on the other side of a wall...

Oh year !! damn skull drudjs !!! I had lost some very nice chars to these (often drawn or turned into vegetables ...)

They are the reason for that I put rand quests less often (a princess captured by a bunch of 12 Skull drudjs ... few race/class can manage)

And for Hounds, I think Hounds of Tindalos are worse, but hopefully, they're Cth ...

Yes, they're Cth, though they're among the least annoying Cth monsters.

I just had a run-in with Death Orbs at about 6250' in Angband, and I must say they're a bit nastier than I gave them credit for. Still, I can't see how they would be fearsome to anyone, really. The only monsters that are tough at that death are big summoners, I think. Hrus and Great Wyrms don't scare me by that point, but Master Qs are still a whole hunk of pain.

Oy. Right now I'm hating Undead Beholders. Ran into a nicely out-of-depth one in Orc Town, and he summoned a twin before I could do anything useful. Only sane tactic was to run for the stairs. :(

Bone golems are my horror, since they can summon a ringwraith. And I really hate those, as they can disenchant even the mightiest weapon.
You turn into an unthinking vegetable!
