Thanks for all the help everyone, Silky the thunderlord sorcerer has finally taken out Morgoth most likely prompting another break from 2.x and a return to 4.
Top mistakes include:
Killing Sauron over 50 times without getting the ring before realizing I had never picked up the quest to find the ring. Undeath form saved me 3 or 4 times during that colossal failure.
Discarding 2 entire sets of end game uniques/very good rares due to not noticing ancient morgothian curse was on a symbiote. When Morgoth finally died I only had 4 uniques left equipped. I'm not sure why I didn't discard lebohaum when I found it, but it ended up being my end game helmet.
No light or nexus resistance. Nexus resistance eluded me the whole game, and the second equipment wipe got rid of light resistance as well. It wasn't that I didn't find any of course, but every time I did find them it would have involved trading out immunities or other things that I valued a bit higher. If a room of nexus hounds had ever got a shot off on me it would have been game over.
Final speed... 3. Obviously I kept essence of speed up near 100%, but I never figured out why inertia control didn't work so it had to be manually maintained. I was in the upper 20s before the first equipment wipe at leisurely thinking it was going to be a ridiculously easy run, I should have known better.
There were a couple highlights:
Using summon animal in cleared rooms on the top of mount doom to give myself a target switch location for the ring of flare absolutely saved my ass 4 or 5 times. It would have been straight game over if I hadn't thought of it. I didn't realize you couldn't probability travel through summoned stone walls on special levels, I thought that was only the special dungeon walls.
Watcher in the water dropped his corpse despite having roughly 0 monster lore and no corpse preservation. Where's that luck when you're playing a possessor?
NOT VOID DIVING Too many big equipment screw-ups don't have me feeling confident enough to void dive on this character. SP is only around 900 and I never did find a mithril or adamantite rod of the istari to use for draining. Losing all my spell power gear means I need the extra mana, and it's just not there. Let's retire alive, shall we?
Anyways, just wanted to say thanks to the people that have helped the last few weeks. I know not too many other people are playing anymore, but it's good to see others still paying attention to the board. Cheers to everyone else who still make the occasional rookie mistake despite having thousands of hours into the game!

Re: Winner!
Congratulations!
I assume that you mean your final speed was 30? I don't think that it would be possible to win with it at 3 (that would be an interesting challenge- maybe abusing Curse would work).

Re: Winner!
Base of just +3.
Essence of speed kicked it up to somewhere around 30 though, I don't remember exactly.
Due to the aforementioned gear swaps I ended up with meh offense but an AC that was through the roof. I want to say with the earth tree armor spell up I was at almost 400 armor. Morgoth spawned inside a giant checkered vault making it really easy to set up some anti summon spots, and he had trouble hitting me most rounds. While earthquake was annoying, he missed so often healing and summoning didn't end up being much of a problem. I had 15ish *healing* and 5 life potions at the ready but ended up just porting out due to low SP a few times.
Damnit, you made me realize I never used the giant stash of restore mana potions or the healing/life potions. Maybe porting out was better since it didn't give him a turn to act while I used a potion, but it did let him regenerate. I definitely should have used the restore mana instead of letting him recover for however many turns though.
At least it's not die and learn this time!
