Hi all
I recently downloaded a roguelike for android called dweller, and it was a lot of fun, but too simple and short. I played some angband, and a lot of Zangband tk and some Tome about 10 years ago and decided that might be available on android. Tome was, great.
I'm not sure how many people have played the android version, but I think that the HTC cha cha (which has a keyboard) worked really well. (Maybe I'm the first winner on android?)
I played a Rohanknight Vampire swordmaster.
I won eventually, but I was *really* lucky in terms of corruptions. I had the Balrog trio and Demon Trio and when I hit level 40 I got Acid, Fire and Elec immunity. Demon hide says one will get Fire imm but the other two just came as a massive bonus. I stuck with the massive dex penalty until the end.
I also got metal shod boots of speed +10 at the black market, and 2x rings of speed +12 (one was in the jewelry shop in gondolin).
By the way, how much faster is +109 than +59, it seemed that the speed got less useful the more you have... at some point extra attacks must be better. I just could not figure out when.
I never got a dungeon town however.
I had a lot of fun, so a big *THANK YOU* to Darkgod and everyone else who helped create Tome 2.3.5 and port it to Android.
As for Tome 4, I have not played it much, but getting that on droid would be awesome.
Games for cellphones should be turnbased, because you tend to play while waiting for something else to happen (standing in line, airport etc.) and then you want to just stop without losing your game etc. for this reason, roguelikes are ideal for android. Except that the traditional roguelikes was very keyboard dependant.
Again, thanks.

Congartulations!
In answer to your question, the practical usefulness of speed drops off above +40 or so. It may even top out at +80. I don't remember the formula and the wiki is long gone. A +10 character is twice as fast as a +0 one, but a +60 is not twice as fast as a +50 or even a +30 (I think).
With a melee character I would definitely go with the extra damage.

Thanks, the light speed jump (+50 speed) remained something that I always activated. But i wondered if it was worth the turn it took...
