Hey guys,
My work PC is a Windows 7 machine, I have the issue where some tiles don't show properly. In my case it is just the "." tiles, so after downloading and studying I commented out all the lines in font-win.prf ending with "0x1F." Works great!
So I told my brother I'd gotten a fix because a while back he told me he couldn't get TOME 2 working properly on his Vista machine. He is missing the "#" and "." tiles, so I additionally commented out the lines that end in "0x7F." Well it works...but now I get all kinds of errors.
When loading savefile: "Error 1 in line 286 of file 'font-win.prf'. Parsing '3R:934:0x0D/0x7F'
Okay, no big deal...then you try to go into the screens in the ~ menu either directly or with (for instance) CTRL-Q I get similar errors and it doesn't show my my quests, just kicks be back out. This happens only on my brother's Vista machine! If I use the same font-win.prf on my Windows 7 machine at work I don't have the issue. (I just found when trying to replicate the error.)
At home I have an XP machine which works flawlessly of course.
Any ideas?

Re: Problem with missing tiles fix
Have you tried running it in compatibility mode with the "XP SP2" setting?

Re: Problem with missing tiles fix
Thanks for the responses! It's my brother's laptop that has the issue so I'll get ahold of it sometime over the holiday weekend to try your suggestions and post the results here.
