Which graphics mode do you use

Which do you use?
When I first started bands some years ago, I barly was able to cope with the old tiles. I thought it was horrible horrible horrible!!! But I liked the gameplay enough to stick with it. Then I tried Adam Bolts tiles and liked them better, but only used them for bout 5 months or so. Now I'v settled on ascii because I can tell what things are easier, and I just think it looks nicer somehow..........when I try the other modes for the heck of it, it almost blinds me with all the color

So enough about me, what do you use?

well for me its all asci i cant stand the tiles but if it makes some happy i guess it could be an option for those young ones that dont appreciate the wonderfull grapich of asci

- the princess is surrounded by lava.
The difference between shallow and deep lava is not enough in ASCII and with little hp you want to avoid deep lava.

- a vault is surrounded by walls
There is no different between permanent and other walls

I really screwed up the poll when editing my post and can't figure out how to fix it.....if a mod could help i'd aprreciate

I always played roguelikes in ASCII ('cos I've started with Rogue, and AFAIK it hasn't tiles), and when I got Angband and tried tiles I didin't knew what is what and switched back

Then from time to time I tried to play with tiles, but it never took me more than 10 turns to switch back

I played Old Tiles all the time. But you cannot see the differnce in ego-monsters so I switched to Adam Bolts.
I never was able to get warm with ASCII, allways played with GFX since good old Nethack/Larn/Moria.

Makkoan: I had to go through and actually delete the poll. So don't get freaked out if suddenly the poll results disappeared. I have no idea how you did that, but I fixed it.

I really do love the characters, though. And I think it's assumed that you're not playing Angband because of the graphics!

only time i ever switch over to tiles is to quicker find diggable walls in a vault (so i dont have to target and search around to find the correct wall) unless i'm forgetting something.
