Sigh...

#1 Post by Yottle »

I was playing a lost soul Thunderlord swordmaster. I was equipped with about every artifact you could think of and was on my way out when I ran into a town on level 4. There were three down stairs but no up stairs. I went down and up a few times but the map remained the same.

The only thing I could think of would be a scroll of teleport level. I was using antimagic, so probability travel was out. I didn't want to spend the rest of the day scumming for unknown scrolls, so I quit.

That's happened before to someone in the Void... I can't remember who!

...and, that would be mine. Pumped-up character on her way out of the Void, post-Tiki, to win the game; but, had to quit (remains forever trapped on that level)!

All the more reason to keep more than one back-up, I suppose.
If it were all real, then I'd probably be peasant extra # 890 at Helm's Deep! :-(

That has happened for only since I started using 2.3.5, I played 2.3.2 for the first couple months and it never happened for me. It has happened quite frequently on some of the quest levels, which I sometimes don't do until I'm fairly high.

I never keep a back-up, I'm too lazy. Only about one out of thousands makes past level 35 for me.

I really do exist.

If I remember correctly, some of the quest levels (like the Orc Cave) have a different bug: if you use the Thunderlords to tp in there will not be an exit.

My guess as to what is going on with TOME Man and my problem is that there is a recaller store, which must count as an exit. However these don't work in the Void or the Halls.

This just happened to me, with a Yeek Lost Soul Symbiant. Ran into a dungeon town on HMa 18, with three down staircases but no ups. I had to go back down to level 50 and stair-dance for a staff of Probability Travel...

My dungeon town didn't have a Recaller, though. There were only four shops, none of them useful.

I have always_small_rooms on, so that may have something to do with it.

Yeah, IIRC this isn't supposed to happen - levels are always supposed to have at least one up and down stair. Maybe it's fixed in git?
