Newbie questions

#1 Post by shaogul »

Hi,

Just been checking out tome, it does look awesome. I have played ASCI games before, but now i find i cant stand the look, even though the game is great. I have been looking at the ISO bad graphics addon, and i was wondering if this works with the latest tome. Also are there any better graphics sets out there?. Can the graphics set be used on multiplayer tome?.

Also as tome is such a massive game, I always cheat and backup my files so i can play same char again and improve them, you get quite attached spending hours working on them. Can future tomes have a save feature to allow us cheaters an easyer time?. Or anyone know how i can easily save games.

Thanks for your help.

I will let someone else answer about the graphics.

There are various cheat options that you can set within the game. The one you want is Cheat Death. It allows you to restore your character after you are killed, but doesn't let you post a score. This is a very good idea when you are starting out, because you will get killed a lot before you figure things out.

Access the options using the = menu.

Yes, it's ^w, but don't use Wizard mode unless you have no interest at all in playing the game; it's for debugging and experimental purposes only. To access the reload feature, you just need to hit '=' and then 'C', followed by scrolling down to and activating the 'allow player to avoid death' option.

I'd caution you not to overuse it. IMHO, it doesn't teach good lessons in terms of constructive cowardice.

Ahh, tried that, only works in wizard mode. Only problem is u can see mobs in other rooms, imho which is cheating. I was looking at the anotomizer also, or whatever its called, i thinks thats more cheating than saving. hehe

I dont plan to spend forever on this game as i dont have the time. One day it may contain this exquisite detail and simmilar graphics.
