I used to play ADOM when it was actively developed (I still play it but more rarely) and TomeNET until it became totally buggy and unstable (bored of losing all my chars to obscure reasons). At the moment I'm spending most of my time testing and debugging my own realtime single/multiplayer roguelike Land of Darkness. But I still find time to play my favorite games, Unreal Tournament and Age of Empires :)

Looks like a fun game... thanks for bringing it up!

I used to play a whole bunch of different computer games, but lately I seem to find less and less time (or interest?:?) for them. Still, there are a few that get my constant attention.

First, I love roguelikes (duh!). My first one was NetHack, and then (after a brief period of ADoM) I switched to Angband. I still play both of them from time to time. ToME, of course, is one of my favorites, though lately I’ve also been playing lots and lots of an excellent new variant called Portralis. It offers some radical new features, and I got quite addicted. Highly recommended!:D

I like other RPG’s too, especially Baldur’s Gate and Diablo series. Baldur’s Gate series is probably one of the best commercial RPG’s ever.

Last but not least, I’m quite fond of hard-core strategies. For years, I’ve been playing Steel Panthers: World At War, and I still can’t seem to get bored of it. The internet community is enormous, and PBEM (play by e-mail) gaming is so much fun it’s creepy!:D

Yes, Portralis is very cool. I haven't got a powerful character yet, but for me by far the coolest features are:

Make-your-own-spells.
Change classes mid-game.

Instead of heading towards a "classless" game like T3 is looking like it may. It has very rich classes, and you can keep the "abilities" from each of the classes that you've been.

dont really play anything else, tome is just too cool, when I get bored I hack it and till I feel like playing it again, then I remove my hacks if they interfere with the normal gameplay, hehehe, made a hacker class once that gave the player virtually every positive flag, and +50 to luck, stats, speed, attack speed, infravision, and so on, he had all the brands too just incase he decided to go bare-handed... needless to say he won easily, though I have managed to kill morgoth without using a PoH or Po*H* though I had to drink one a couple of turns after morgoth died to not be killed by the summoned demons... :D I think morgoth took me down to 1/3 health....that was pretty nice, though when I considered doing the void, I went there unprepared :( darn it, I wont say more cause it would be spoily...

i play lots of other games, and have fun with them, but then i exhaust them, they run out of replay, and i always end up coming back to ToME. for me, they interact symbiotically with ToME. They get old after a while, so i switch to ToME, then ToME gets frustrating after a while, so i find a new other game to play, then back and forth.
