When you roleplay/play what is under your character's armor? Is it clothing/underclothing/other. I thought of this while recalling other rogue-likes, in nethack you could wear a shirt under your armor. I also thought of the Angband ladder post on pants.

I think you have some sort of appropriate-to-the-character normal unmagical clothing that gives zero protection but also doesn't hinder you. Its sole property in game terms is making the likes of Farmer Maggot take you seriously even if you are not wearing anything else.
Any Ent player characters may very well be totally naked.

Zothiqband -- still an Angband variant.

Maybe it's affected by Combat skill?Sly wrote:But if you ever tried wearing any mail or plate armor without a good stuffed leather coat (with foam or feather for exemple) ... you would know it's uncomfortable to move, and you wouldn't event think to fight
Plus I remember being impressed with Ada bceause you could write an infinite loop without a faked up condition. The idea being that in Ada the typical infinite loop would normally be terminated by detonation.

At 0 combat skill you wear boxer shorts and at 50 you wear a padded leather coat? Sounds silly.calvertvl wrote:Maybe it's affected by Combat skill? :wink:Sly wrote:But if you ever tried wearing any mail or plate armor without a good stuffed leather coat (with foam or feather for exemple) ... you would know it's uncomfortable to move, and you wouldn't event think to fight

It affects your charisma and dexterity by 15.
Don't mind me, I'm dizy.
Edit: Wait... what about traps of masculinity? Surely you've hit a few!
Actually, boxers sounds best to me. I can even cite 4 examples where this occured. (Ghosts and goblins (nes), super ghouls and ghosts (SNES), and Maximo (PS2). And don't forget the last renaissance fair i visited.
Edit: (Don't mind my stupidity, im just a console gaming freak.)
Currently playing under the name Aura of the Dawn 4 down, 227 to go!

Whatever it is, it surely needs washing. You wear it for weeks while exerting yourself heavily and being drenched in, at various times, salt water, stagnant water, silty river water, and blood of various nasty creatures including dragons which are noted for smelling foul. It's amazing all charachters don't start aggravating monsters after a few days of gameplay.
