High Elves are too snooty, and I intrinsically dislike beigey wood colours, soo... dark!
(Play Theme, the Wood-Elves are a tougher bunch there!)

On a completely extra-gamey basis I'll answer High Elves!
I love Tolkien's Noldor. I took my name from one of them.
But if we're talking about D&D elves (sigh...) then I like Drows best.
Zothiqband -- still an Angband variant.

Yeah, I liked the Noldor as well and took my name and ancestry from them too, but in the game I play wood-elves more often, though recently I haven't played many elves anyway. In Annals of Ea, since you can actually play Noldor, I would go for them though.

I'm a luck-junkie, so I prefer high elves over dark.

I first missread the subject as asking which kind of
Elvis I preferded. Then I realised what it actually said and felt rather silly.
Noooo.... The monkeys!

Poor Elves, no-one's voting for the basic type.

High-elves, definitely. *pets them* (Partially the lovely stats and such, partially my inner Silmarillion geek intruding - <3 Noldor. Nerdanel, your namesake is one of my favorites.)
In conclusion, I need to pound my head repeatedly with blunt objects until I stop talking like this. --Professor_Scissors

That's because exp penalties aren't effective. Plain elves have never been as popular as high elves in any *band.

Well, plain elves aren't the LEAST played...
In fact, half-elves are so forgotten that they aren't even on the poll. Heh.
