Re: Looking for Dragonball T
Did you try the wayback machine / internet archives, as in: http://web.archive.org/web/20101011115747/http://t-o-m-e.net/download.php?tome_current=0 or http://wayback.archive.org/web/*/http://t-o-m-e.net/dl/src/* ? Checking it just now, web archive only has three snapshots containing pages for two ...

Re: Looking for Dragonball T
I got a version on my computer, dunno if this is the last one :/ http://te4.org/dl/tmp/DBT.zip That appears to be version .57 from 2006. That's pretty much ancient. Does anyone have anything more recent? So far the most recent version that anyone's turned up is missing about the last 5 months of de...

Looking for Dragonball T
Hello, everyone.
Does anyone have a copy of DBT more recent than V.91? The old modules site is gone and my archived copy was lost due to hard drive issues.
Thanks.

Re: Monk class idea
I've studied Shaolin Kung-fu for like 8 years Hey, Gruevy. I did mixed martial arts for a little over ten years. Chinese, Japanese and Korean styles. I've trained with members of the Beijing wushu team, and under a couple different grandmasters. I retired from active training many years ago, but Re...

Re: Making a good description for ToME4 and T-Engine
In what way is it not a roguelike? In my mind, being non-ascii by default disqualifies it as a roguelike. T4 not only is graphical by default, it features vector-based spell effects. If "turn based dungeon delving" is all you need to qualify as a roguelike, then is Eye of the Beholder a r...

Re: Making a good description for ToME4 and T-Engine
T4 isn't a roguelike. It's a standard top-view RPG along the lines of elona, phantasy star, the ultima series, and hundreds of others.
Don't bother trying to explain what a roguelike is. T4 isn't one.

Re: [BGC] Bubblegum Crisis V057 Released!
At this point, I'm wondering where you want us to go from here. No new content was added in 057. Just bug fixes and some interface improvements. Mostly I fixed the bugs that EuchreJack was reporting in his "Let's Play" thread. And added a few new touches that I thought needed doing. So th...

Re: Recruiting ToME players for astroempires!
Our guild is now in the top 100 on the server for both economy and fleet size. We have three ToME players and two people I know personally.
Would be nice to get a few more players. You're all very welcome to join.

Re: Making various school spells useful
Making various school spells useful I propose that magic be re-written from scratch. In particular, let's not invoke Contractual Boss Immunity to create Artificial Difficulty . There's no point in having spells that are only effective on creatures that you'd never have any reason to use them on. If...

Re: Should we switch away from babyface default?
So, I've just tested the old interface...and it's bad. If there's to be an interface change, so be it...but switching to the old interface as it is would not be an improvement. 1) It doesn't display player.make_savefile_descriptor() information. 2) The green "highlight" can scroll off the ...

Re: Should we switch away from babyface default?
or even worse, dead characters with savefiles cluttering the selection screen if babyface still acts the way it used to. Like I said, it could probably use a redesign. I don't like the clutter any more than you do. But the basic sequence of "load" --> "choose character" makes se...

Re: [BGC] Bubblegum Crisis V057 Released!
I love the game Thank you. If you want it to continue development, please...more feedback. Back when I first released BGC, fully half the feedback was from Nerdanel complaining about getting lost and proselytizing about "gamist" design philosophies, so I didn't have a lot of incentive to ...

Re: [BGC] Bubblegum Crisis V057 Released!
Dwarf Fortress is really different from Bubblegum Crisis. More to the point, Bubblegm Crisis is different from ToME/Angband/Moria/etc. It's a different sort of game. It's not a traditional roguelike, just like Dwarf Fortress is not a traditional roguelike. They just happen to use text interfaces li...
