The Gondolin quest is the same in Theme as it is in regular ToME - the only difference is that since Gondolin's location has moved to a more thematic place on the map, there's some hilarity involving a secret valley and road signs. Hunter, I agree that skills, if given, should be given spa...

I agree that a Home is an excellent reward for a quest, but inventory management is a huge part of the game and extra homes can take away from the challenge. I think that maybe one more extra home in addition to the 4 already guaranteed could be OK, to make up for the possible loss of the Gondolin h...

Favourite/preferred kind of quest reward?
What does everyone consider the best kind of reward to get for quests? It's a general-interest thing as well as a Theme module thing as I'm starting to get into adding quests at various locations, and have several ideas for what to give as rewards.. and it would be helpful to know what actual player...

Big yay from me, as long as by replacing the fora with a Wiki the user interaction isn't lost. I mean, the fora are a great place to go to get advice from fellow players, and many times people have questions that have not been asked before and thus couldn't have an entry in a Wiki. How would the Ide...

Thanks for your kind words about the module, feathin and zasvid. I'm glad you are finding it fun. :) The module is indeed purely cosmetic up to now (cosmetic in the sense that only the edit files have been edited); sometime within this week a new version is coming with new towns and store types - I'...

I think BlackSmurf's idea (from the aWESoME module) for creating towns that do not show up in the overview map of the wilderness is a really elegant solution to the 'overfilling' problem. I mean, places like Rivendell and Henneth Annun (and other hidden/small places) really should not show up on the...

Depends on geographical location. Whichever dungeon I'm doing, I'll take the closer town and move all my supplies there for the time that I'm diving. I do usually proceed from Bree to Lothlorien to Minas Anor to Gondolin (it's always my last home-that-has-supplies in the game), and Khazad Dum I use ...

I hide because I'm a privacy freak, read too much Orwell when I was younger ;) I believe it's nobody's business whether I'm here or not - if I want to show that I'm here, I'll just post, those who are on at the same time will see that I'm here since I'm obviously posting. So that's why I do it, I do...

Arioch_Arioch, those ads are hysterically funny, thanks for the link! I use a brass lantern until I get an everburning torch. I'm an inventory slot hog and I just end up being extra careful in the dungeon because of the low light radius. I also take off my light before I go travelling, brass l...

I'm 24, though will be 25 this year. My friends are all around 28-29 and they close their ears and wonder about my sanity when I start talking about ToME. They call it 'pixel-wars' (translated from Hungarian) I think it's not really about age as such, but about the presence or absence of acces...

I'm female and always thought that the 'ity' end would give it away, but it doesn't most of the time, as I always get mistaken for a guy online, probably because I'm interested in traditional 'guy stuff' more than I am in traditional 'girl stuff.' Given the results of the poll above so far, I'd say ...

Maybe it got un-stuck because it was sticky above the Forum Etiquette thread. I think if a post is made to 'refresh' the Forum Etiquette thread, that one will be at the top of the forum and this one would come below it? *shrugs* I like the idea of a forum for these things, maybe as a sub-forum of Sp...
