*Gasp* All you people here actually *Speak* in public? Being in this forum isn't the only contact with another human being you get all day? ... I must be missing out on something. But anyways, I never thought much about it either. I don't have any cool friends to talk about ToME with. I suppose ever...

Lol! I just got it! I had a notion about what he meant, but "hamfisted" and "hack" threw me off. I guess I forgot that "hack" in angbandish programmer meant "change in code" and I also might have forgotten something about hamfists, by being weak from hunger, a...

I never really thought a whole lot about people being "lucky" or "unlucky", maybe some of that stuff about purging your dice and making sure unlucky people don't touch them isn't so crazy. If you think that a d20 is bad, though, then you should check out some of the stuff the RNG...

I didn't say it should be EASY. A spell to stop a single monster from summoning for any decent amount of time would probably be level 40+, I'm thinking, but I don't know much about balancing. I'm starting to think that no one likes my idea enough to try it out. But we can still comprimise, right? (I...

But you would have to get the first attack in to stun it! How would that prevent a balrog from summoning annoying little demons to kick your arse? All I'm really trying to do is reduce the need of unorthodox (No, I'm not Jewish, I just like that word) strategy, like anti-summoning corridors, collect...

It was a joke! Maybe it wasn't appropriate... I'll change it.

No hard feelings, right? :D

Maybe I don't know enough to be suggesting ideas about the game, but I can still put up a good fight! Does the damage you do to a monster affect it's spell failure rate? No! Are there any spells to affect spell failure rate? No again! Are there any spells that supress the ability to cast spells? No ...

I never said anything about memorizing spells, as it would be a little too slow for a faster game like ToME, but maybe it wouldn't be the worst idea to have mana to cast spells quickly and be able to use mana to 'memorize' it for later. And before you get outraged, remember that something similar is...

Well, I just thought it would be nice to be able to move around or be able to 'cancel' the spell if something bad is about to happen. Like if you're casting teleport, but have a scroll of it, too, then you could cancel the spell when you see something big come along and then read the scroll to get a...

Well, sorry if I didn't know enough about ToME spellcasters (too few spells for wizards/sorcerors, right now anyways). The same still stands for monsters, though, shouldn't some not summon incredibly fast? Interrupting spells with a melee attack still isn't an option, I think. I guess I can see why ...

Casting Time!

If anyone here has ever played D&D (the ultimate game, if you have the right friends) then you know about how, according to those rules, a spell could take longer to cast if it is very intricate or difficult. At first, I was somewhat dissapointed with the fact that it was not a rule in Angband, ...

I always thought of Aragorn being more bratish when I was reading the books. "No, I don't want to take responsibility, accept what fate has given me, and rule Gondor, I just can't! I want to be a ranger, run around in the forest, and go hump a tree somewhere! No Elrond! I'd rather practically d...
